The 4th White Lion Beer Festival was held over the bank holiday weekend: 22nd to 25th August 2008.

This year, the beer festival was run in conjunction with The White Hart Tap (in nearby Keyfield Terrace) to become the inaugural Lion-Hart Beer Festival. The extensive range (see below) of beers and ciders was split between the two pubs and, for the first time, the Festival was open from Friday night at 6pm. There was a barbecue all weekend (including Friday evening), a quiz (in aid of Baobab Creative Arts Therapies) Saturday evening and B S V Jazz played in the garden on Sunday
In addition to the Beer Festival, The White Lion and White Hart Tap hosted the Lion-Hart Music Festival on the Monday, the 25th in aid of Dogs For The Disabled (charity registration 1075317)), Grove House (1003462) and Baobab Creative Arts Therapies (CIC 06280671).
